Samsung Galaxy Fit S5670 vs Galaxy Pop S5570 Comparison

Samsung has quite a number a number of phones in the low end segment, all branded in the Galaxy series and with the Android operating system. With slight differences in price, Samsung has managed to keep most of the features intact and change quite a few for a better experience or a cheaper handset. We take a look at the Galaxy Fit S5670 and Galaxy POP S5570 here:
Note: The Galaxy POP S5570 is referred to as the Galaxy Mini in many countries.
Galaxy Pop
Display
The Galaxy FIT has a 3.3 inches TFT Capacitive touchscreen which has a resolution of 240×320 and also has an Accelerometer for Auto-Rotate but the Galaxy S5570 POP comes with a slightly smaler screen of about 3.14 inches and has Accelerometer too.
Both the displays support upto 16M colors and come with a proximity sensor which is used for turning the screen off while calls are taking place. Though it is a standard feature in all Touchscreen phones, some phones Galaxy 5 i5503 do not have it.

Camera:
Galaxy FIT has a 5 Mega pixel camera and photos are shot a maximum resolution of 2560х1920 pixels which is quite good but the Galaxy 551 has a 3.15 Megapixel camera which supports Autofocus and shoots at a maximum resolution of 2048×1536 pixel  pixels, and both the camera support Geo Tagging.

Both phones record video too, at the rate of 15 frames per second and do not have a secondary camera on them.
Memory:
The Galaxy FIT has 160MB of internal memory and a microSD card slot which supports upto 32 Gigabytes of storage. On the other side, the Galaxy POP has 160MB of inbuilt storage and supports microSD upto 32GB. Both the phones have a 2GB card in the box.
Connectivity:
Both the phones have three HSDPA bands: 900 / 2100 and give maximum speeds upto 7.2Mbps.. Wi-fi bands are the same with both supporting the latest bands of Wi-Fi, the 802.11n and the older ones like b and g well. GPS is available on both the phones and Bluetooth 2.1 is available on both the phones, along with A2DP. Both phones have USB connectivity via the standard Micro USB port and support USB 2.0.
DLNA based Wi-fi is also available on both the phones. Wifi Hotspot/Portable Hotspot feature is also available on both phones on Android 2.2 and both the phones support stereo FM Radio.
Operating System and UI:
Both the phones are based on Samsung’s TouchWiz UserInterface over Android. They run Android Froyo, 2.2 and both the phones are upgradable to Android 2.3, Gingerbread. Though Samsung has released the update, it is available only for certain regions in the world. Look out some information about that in your region for exact information.
Battery and Processor
The Galaxy FIT S5670 has a 1350mAh battery while the Galaxy S5570 Pop / Mini has a 1200mAh battery, which is pretty decent considering these are low end devices. A 1350mAh battery on the FIT means it would be significantly longer. Samsung claims upto 642 hours of standby time and ~11 hours of talktime on 2G on the S5670 FIT and on the POP / Mini S5570, around 570 hours of standby time and 9 and a half hours of talktime on 2G.
Both the phones have a 600Mhz processor and a Graphics Processing Unit as well, the Adreno 200 GP.
Other points & Conclusion
Summing it all up, the FIT S5670 has a much better camera and a slightly bigger screen than the POP also. The FIT makes a decent competitor for some mid-end phones as well, though powered by a 600 Mhz processor only. Putting in a few more bucks over the POP S5570 and going for the Galaxy FIT is highly recommended. For the features it would offer on Android 2.3 and an overall decent specifications and 3.3 inch screen, it’d mean a much better and smoother Android experience.
